You can't escape from yourself

about

This is my synthesis of two songs:

1. fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/38896
2. fiftyninety.fawmers.org/song/40271

Since the first one has very jazzy chords, and the second one has only power chords, I made a song that has a both, alternating between a grungy guitar riff and a rich harmonic guitar finger picking.

For the lyrics, since the first one talks about the Earth being a bubble, and the second one about racing in circles, I had this picture of a person running in circles inside their bubble, trying but unable to escape from themselves, which is where the title comes from.

The platypus came to be, I think, because it's the combination of a beaver with a duck.

lyrics

Call your friends and remember
There's nothing you can do
Call your friends and remember
There's nothing you can do

The platypus was in the park
Saying goodbye
To mama duck & papa beaver
Goodnight

The platypus told me of his fears
He told of the night
How can one breastfeed
What comes from an egg?

Call your friends and remember
There's nothing you can do
Call your friends and remember
There's nothing you can do
Call your friends and remember
There's nothing you can do
Call your friends and remember
There's nothing you can do
