Pirakuára

from FAWM 2018 by The Fishermen & the Priestess

backstage exclusive

about

The tupi word "pirakuára" describes the people that live around the river Paraíba do Sul in Brazil. I was born and grew up close to the river, and lived on its margins again from 2006 to 2012.

For this song I recorded a simple solo on my guitar playing muted notes, and then added a descending bass line for the weekly challenge. I play very little guitar, so I had to watch a YouTube video to learn how to do the muted notes!

The rest came naturally. I love the upbeat energy of this song.
